[DeTomaso] LOJACK FOR CLASSICS - SPECIAL PRICE

Brent,

I know Larry has never actually tried to recover a LoJack vehicle, but I can tell you it is not the magical system Larry indicates.  All systems have their weaknesses.  For me the best data has always come from a person relaying location info over the phone to dispatch. Not all police cars are equipped with LoJack receivers and any available car can look for a target vehicle with GPS location data given over the radio.  There will be another great system on the market in another month or so as well.  You have many options.

No Brent, you cannot use Lojack yourself. It is police  based. But once you buy it, that is the end of your expense.
A GPS based system will continue to require regular payments to keep it active. AND it will not work at all if the unit is blocked from GPS satellites.
The Lojack system is advertised as functional through concrete, heavy foliage and steel containers.

My folks in Tucson have twice had their stolen car recovered thanks to their Lojack system.  Within 24 hours.

Even then, in one instance the dash VIN had already been changed out and I suspect the car was destined for an
over-the-border journey in short time.

So what if YOU can't track the car's location? Are you really going to walk into the chop shop and ask for your
car to be returned? Having law enforcement perform the recovery sure seems like the logical choice.

Larry
