Hi Dan,

I have a question that you have probbably answerd a Thousand times.
But you put so much information on the web that it is hard to put it
all in perspective. That's why I called this Dan Jones overload.
I have a grp4 clone that is only build for the tracks ( serious
racing ) The engine is blue-printed stock and the dyno showed 349 BHP
and only 422 Nm. So it is time to spice him up. I am looking for an
engine with great driveability and practability. It doesn't have to
be the strongest or biggest engine. 500 till 550 bhp is more than
enough. So I was thinking of a modes stroke of 377 or 393, reving
7000-7500 Now you wrote in an article on May 23 2006 the following:

Unfortunately, problems with stroker kits are not that unusual. Most
of the
kits sold are simply pieced together by retailers who don't actually
build
engines. They slap some parts together and hope it all fits. I've seen
these
sorts of problems from generic retailers, Ford specialists, and even the
manufacturers themselves, including SCAT who I've had to educate
concerning
the differences between 351C's and 351W's.

You also wrote:

When shopping around for a stroker kit, there are a number of things
to keep
in mind. First of all, there's little reason to buy a kit.

So after reading this, and knowing Dan is always right ; ) Is it, four
years later, wise to buy for example a SCAT forged 4340 superlight
rotating assambly ? or is it still beter to shop around.
And then in combination with a popular 393 stroke, what kind of heads,
valve-train lob profile and
intake manifold would you suggest that are easy to get outside the
state's ( europe )

By the way if you are coming to Norway, is there a possibility that I
come by with my engine man? Otherwise if you want a tour through
Amsterdam just let me know. Oslo Amsterdam is just an Hour flight
time, And there are two engine builders with shops you must like!

rgds Arno
