Boyd,
I have a wing on the back of my car that
I had Pogywings build for me a few years back
They would not touch the mounting brackets
I built alum struts with brackets off my rear
mounts (older car had a ZF bracket) and then
I installed alum angles thru bolted behind the
license plate holder... 
It does not seem to make a difference on the
track as I have run with and without it but then
again we are only doing 140-150
Had it at 165+ at the Silver State and could
not tell if it was really doing anything.. Like 
Jack says above 170 who knows! 165 was my tech speed
