I agree with many that autocrossing is very stressful
on many parts of a car... I have broken swaybar mounts,
axles, rearends, many motors and have damaged timing chains
Let alone the tires burned up.. with soft compounds today
you need a good three sets of tires for the season in order
to get that trophy that Judy talks about

I stopped autocrossing the Pantera as it was tearing things
apart in the rear engine bay with cracking and the rear
chassis truss trying to pull thru the rear housings

Road racing is more of a smooth transition in the turns
verses an abrupt point and shoot type of turn in autocrossing
Just the off and on motion has even broken a motor mount
in an autocross car I had

The Pantera is fairly quick but tough to be competitive
with the classes nowadays as you do need to modify a
few things that tend to jump you up a class or two

I enjoy autocrossing more than road racing as it is
more challenging... but I think Hillclimbs like the
Virginia City Hillclimb are the ultimate autocross
