[DeTomaso] Nickle plating on suspension arms

I prefer my chassis parts in flat black too. Recently a friend who's
restoring an Iso Grifo had almost all his chassis parts zinc coated in a
flat black variety. If my A-arms ever come off for a paint job this will be
my surface treatment of choice too.

Can someone enlighten me on the attractiveness of shiny suspension
parts? Or engine (room) parts?

Personally I like the more industrial look, with natural aluminum and
painted steel parts. I would never polish the ZF for instance, and I
prefer painted wheels instead of polished.
