It's quite easy to run the wires through the body in between the 
taillights.   I honestly can't remember the specifics, as to whether any holes need to 
be drilled to get the wires from the inside of the wheelwell into the 
cavity behind the taillights, but I did this modification to my own car, many 
years ago, and it was fairly trivial.
