I had good results with

     BMW 1988 Suspa Hood Strut *Price:* $23.95 *Qty:* 2 *Part #:* 
O2020-27089
     I had to cut 4 bushings from a piece of plastic rod to adapt them 
to the Pantera.

I see they are easy to get and still cheap
