Whatever you use, make sure thay are ALL METAL! The natural rubber ones
weather-crack in a couple of years and have failed on the highway in Panteras.
There are two sizes of stem assemblies: 1/2" and 5/8" and both use rubber
bushings between metal stem and the metal wheels, so check to see what size
your wheels are drilled for.
I think a few early cars had aluminum valve stems. They save maybe 15 grams
of wt over brass or chromed-brass. Brass are available at any tire store
and maybe Kragens. Haven't seen aluminum ones for some time except on
superbikes. Good luck- J DeRyke
