[DeTomaso] in-car fuel tank cleaning?????

1. Remove filler neck AND vent cover/rollover valve to provide clear access and
visibility into both sides of the tank - there's an internal wall/baffle that
separates it into two sides internally.
2. Inspect with a flashlight and or mirror. A Digital camera is also a good way
to inspect the interior - shine a bright light into one of the openings and
stick your camera lens through the other and get shots of different angles.
3. Clean thoroughly with a pressure washer - preferably steam cleaner/sprayer.
Be careful with the blast pressure that you don't blow out any of the tank
seams.
This all assumes that the tank is solid in the first place. A rusty tank may
give way under the pressure of a steam cleaner/sprayer.
That's my 2-cents. YMMV!
