[DeTomaso] Can I leave the fuel pump eccentric out if I'm using anelectic pump?

Asa,

I'm putting an EFI system together and it requires a high pressure electric pump.  I guess I could just carry an extra electric pump if I feel like I need it.

If you are stranded in the middle of nearly nowhere, and can't get a
replacement electric pump, chances are you can pick up a mechanical at
nearly any auto parts store.  Leaving the eccentric in place and not
used won't hurt, and in the case just stated, might actually help out, a
lot.
