As I recall, the reason he was with the DeTomaso group was that it was officially registered with a Mangusta VIN...I agree with Larry, not the right car to have front and center...

That was a custom built car that utilized a ZF, owned by some LA area Pantera owner with, obviously, a lot of money.  ;-)

He had apparently asked George Pence if he could display it in the DT section as it was sort of a red-haired orphan stepchild.

Not sure it really belonged in the Concorso at all, as its Italian lineage was totally lacking as far as I could tell. (A ZF is ...duhhh, German), 

I especially couldn't figure out why it was displayed front and center of our section, but it was there nonetheless.

I'd have put it waaay in the rear..., near the Porsche corral, under the trees, and out of sight.  :-)
