[DeTomaso] I was only going to to re-torque the headbolts.

You're so close. Pull the engine and freshen up the bottom end. That cam
lobe went somewhere you know. Even if the filter never bypassed and caught
all the bits, every Cleveland owner needs new rod bearings.

But now after
- 2 new rockers
- 16 new rockerstuds
- 34 rocker nuts (2 passes)
- 5 cut up guideplates
- 16 new valves & seats re-cut
- 16 new valvesprings, locks and seals
- 16 new & crazy expensive Brodex valveguides
- and a complete set of felpro gaskets
the 2nd last rocker I had to set was #6E.
But -wait for it ------ its pushrod lift was only about 0.125 - so no lobe.
Probably at first start-up. There was no loose metal anywhere when I got it.
BTW - this is all with the engine in place, because this started with
the car in nose-first
and due to the ski-slope driveway just outside the garage door,
I can't maneuver an engine hoist there and didn't want to install a
floor anchor
to do a u-turn on the driveway with an electric winch.
So - no problem - off with the intake and front stuff and let's get the
cam out.
A new cam and a set of lifters is only $250 or so.
But, I'd certainly appreciate some help in cam selection.
==========================================
= 0.030 overbore & stock crank
= 10.8:1 & 94 Octane
= 4V-CC heads, ported, polished and matched, but no port-stuffers.
= CompCams Magnum hydraulic lifters, pushrods, & roller rockers
= Hall big bores & ANSAs which I intend to core out
= Performer 2665 intake which I plan to replace with an AirGap
= 800cfm Thunder (I also have a 600 Performer but the 800 seemed fine)
= MSD 6AL
==========================================
Just because there is a bunch of CompCams stuff already there,
I was thinking of putting back a new set of the same lifters and
picking a cam from their Magnum or Xtreme energy lines.

I couldn't care less about idle but would like some vacuum, would like
it to run at 1500 and pull from 3000 to maybe 6200.
After seeing Dr Dan's cam design email, that looks pretty interesting too.
I don't know anything about ordering or cost though??

Thanks in advance (I hope)
