That new engine looks to be a great one. I have two Olds and four Torinos I'd trade for that motor and maybe even throw in some cash.

>>>True!  I'm going to pick it up at the freight terminal in Sacramento
tomorrow.  (Ironically, the combined value of my Scirocco plus trailer
equals the value of my new motor's intake manifold--and that's with a
full tank of gas!) :>)

Then it's a matter of coordinating schedules with Forest Goodhart
(Forest, are you out there?) and others; we'll probably install it next
Monday or Wednesday, although I'm quite flexible.

>Again awesome collection of data.

>>>We got quite proficient at changing intake manifolds.  Since we
weren't overly concerned with oil leaks, we used pieces of foam rubber
for the front and rear seals. The Fel-Pro intake gaskets were glued to
the heads and coated with grease on the intake side.  At our best, we
could go from a runnng engine, to a running engine with a different
intake manifold in well under ten minutes. :>)

For the final assembly, the engine was put together with thick beads of
RTV on the China walls, and a cut-down proper turkey tray gasket
augmented the glued-on two-piece intake gaskets.
