[DeTomaso] Tires for track days

I'm not sure all 18 inch wheels have the same rim profiles.  I saw some rims that taper to a smaller ID.  I think the issue is the inside radius of the rim clearing the control arms and carrier?

I have the brake rotors mounted on outside hats, pushing the wheels out a bit. My 285's are pretty close to the fender. If I go to 18" wheels can I get more backspace? I going to  make a fixture to measure the clearances all around.

Perhaps aesthetically in your opinion, but not physically on a narrow bodied
car.  Mine and many others have them.
