Keep kicking ass in Europe Pat! We're all proud of you.

And driving backwards in the rain or snow with your rear view mirror at a 100 mph+ is a good learning experience. ;-)

I agree with all the comments.
I also understand that insurance aspect, but it is a bit hypocritic, isn't
it ? Either you are taking driving lessons, ( which I should do, according
to Mike Drew :>)) or getting to know your car under the wet ( which everyone
should do, with or without a Pantera...) or you are speeding, and trying to
make a decent lap time...
I have NO insurance whatsoever on Candy ( which is worth some money, as
everyone may guess.... ) . After all, may be "not to be insured" is MY best
insurance , because I know I will take the bill if I hit... That makes me
cool down immediately ( however when you are in the Mulsanne straight at Le
Mans, you have no time to think of insurance, believe me !)
I remember missing the apex at Tertre Rouge in Le Mans Classic 2006 with the
Warhol car, and have the two left wheels in the gravels, and the two right
wheels on the extreme outside limit of the rumble strips at 100 MPH if not
more, just before entering the Mulsanne straight. No time to be afraid, it
was just for one very small second maybe, no more, but, Jeeeez, I was PISSED
AT ME like you have no idea ! I could have ruined my car totally !
See Vic Elford's comments in his GT40. Today, Candy has 100 HP more...and
much better tyres

Track days can become a problem for the car owner if he has an accident.
Here in Norway they define it as a driving skill training and then the
normal insurance counts.
But the catch is that the traffic regulations is in effect so of you have an
accident the insurance companies can investigate you for reckless driving
and have you claim denied. Some insurance companies also have it with small
letters in your insurance agreement that insurance is not in effect on
tracks and they also specify not in effect when driving on Nürburgring
Northsliefe.

I agree, I recognise that the thing with people getting suspicious during
the initial driving point in the direction of that the driver is not
having things under control. But this is also something the people that
let him out on the track have to take part of.
We have recently had a discussion in the board about arranging a "soft
race" for the Pantera people, an I did notify the other members of the
Board about regulations that apply to racing and insurance. It is very
easy that an arangement is made without the necessary precautions.
