[DeTomaso] Rocker installation

That doesn't see right, but maybe it's common?  I had thought that the more common problem was the roller getting to close to the inside edge when the rocker arm tilted away from being perpendicular to the valve stem, but I don't have much experience.  It might be a good idea to talk to someone who has built a few Clevelands with roller rocker arms and see what they say.  But I think a lot of people don't look at this, and maybe some have failures?

The Comp Cams tech people are pretty good, maybe you should call them?

Hi Ken

Yes you are right, the roller is almost over the edge at some parts of the revolution on the intake valves but not on the exhaust. That's what makes me worried.

The heads are AFD 4V 64cc and the rockers are Comp cams (http://performanceparts.com/part.php?partID=246836)

Which brand of heads and rocker arms are these?

What looks bad to me is that as the valve opens, the roller may go over the edge?  Did you rotate the cam through 360 degrees to see the range of movement of the roller on the top of the valve stem?  The roller will be the farthest towards the outside edge of the valve when the rocker is perpendicular to the valve stem, but should still be on the flat top surface of the valve stem.

    Hi Tomas

The heads are purchased complete with springs and valves. I can't find any information from the supplier that mention anything special.

I plan to make an adjustable rush rod to see how much a shorter rod will do. But it seems strange to need different length on intake and exhaust rods?

    Henrik,

Incorrect valve stem/pushrod length would cause this. Are your intake
    valves special in any way?

    Hi Guys

Take a look at my roller rockers

    <http://www.garaget.org/?car=163523&image=1903688>

For some reason the tip of the rocker almost goes over the edge of the
valve. Look at the intake valve of cylinder 4 for example. The strange
thing is that on the exhaust valves they are centered but on all intake
    they are off.

Any ideas why and what I can do?
