Assuming the car had no rake from the factory, a big assumption, the object is to get the car raked forward from there. Seems that you need to start with the stock ride height measurements front and back and then adjust those? Is there anywhere to find out the original measurements? Jack's suggestion about using the rocker panels is probably as good as you can get to find something that was level to start with.
