No, the studs are in Ford-taper holes in the top of the rear uprights, and 
the ball joints press (not very tightly) into steel loop-recepticals in the 
a-arms. FWIW, I've seen upper rear ball joints with ruined seal boots but 
never a bad upper ball joint. And torn up boots come from using pickle-forks 
to remove the ball joints. I avoid using pickle forks at all costs. Good
