I'm not far behind you! I was in St. Louis over the weekend, doing a big-time intake manifold shootout with Dan Jones, with my 408C as the test mule. We tested 8-10 different intake manifolds throughout the day, and learned a lot, and had a lot of fun!

Here's a video of my engine in my configuration, wearing an extensively modified and ported Blue Thunder intake (which demonstrated a 15 hp increase across the board when compared back-to-back with a standard Blue Thunder intake).

This is a warm-up run from 4000 to 6000 rpm; the real testing was done from 3000 to 6200 rpm.

You'll need to right-click to download the 38 mb file to your hard drive, and then view it.

The engine should be going into a box and be on the way to me next week, just in time for a hurry-up tech session at my house to get it installed for the drive to Reno. :>)

Dan will provide a detailed writeup on the specs of the engine, and the results of the testing, later on. I flew to LA on Monday and he followed me on Tuesday and together we toured the Scat manufacturing facility, which was quite interesting too!

Mike (back at home after three weeks on the road, wow there's a lot of boxes and mail here!)
