Most of the vendors have completely refinished wheels available on an 
exchange basis. Chips and cracks are welded, including a stress-relief heat 
treat, the wheels are NDT-inspected and then refinished. The cost depends to a 
large extent on how much work the ones you send in will need to get hem back 
to "excellent" for the next guy. Call around but you'll probably have to send 
them in for inspection before you'll know to the dollar. The good part here 
is, NDT (non-destructive testing including X-ray) is quite expensive and 
not available in all areas for DIY-ers. And welders that can actually do 
magnesium are uncommon as well. Good luck- J DeRyke
