[DeTomaso] MSD Box Update

Tested the MSD box today by pulling a plug wire and grounding it,turned the
engine over -  no spark.

then pulled the dist cap off, rotates perfectly.

So, looks like the F&^%$ is dead.

Will be pulling it and sending it back to MSD for a rebuild ( $75.00 )

meanwhile, it is also going to be relocated into the front trunk area behind
the battery on the "firewall".

I have also decided to run the "Battery Tender" plug through the firewall
and out above the
fuse box location in the cockpit.

That way, I can simply roll down the passenger side window and sit the
Battery
Tender in the floor and not have to raise the front lid or (leave it open)
when I'm not driving the car,
to keep the battery charged.

Will be running the wires in a 1/2" O.D. diameter aluminum tube from the
front of the car to the rear
hugging the seam next to the rocker.floor pan, attached with clips.

Power will obviously come from the battery directly, but I do have a
question.
Should all the other wires be upgraded one or two gauge sizes larger because
of the distance?

Thanks also to everyone who help and offered suggestions.  I'm sure the
damage was my fault,
I got it wet and now I'm paying the price. Nevermore, Nevermore.

If the engine ever has to come out, the whole system is going Electromotive
with a magnetic pick up/
saw blade crank trigger.
