Jack,
There is a picture of McLaren MP4/23 MBZ covered with a wet green dye to do analysis of air flow visualization in Racecar Engineering Sept 09 edition.  The streaks show both actual direction on the body and, by measuring their lengths, indentify the high and low pressure areas.  It is a neat way to identify where vents may be placed.
