Thanks for the data, Tom
Actually this article is so full of holes it's ridiculous.
He calls the interior ventillation system pathetic while saying he didn't have any problems during his drive. So he's basically criticizing it based on hearsay or prejudice. And he expected the suspension system to be "crashing" but it wasn't.
Where did they find this loser?
Jim

Subject: [DeTomaso] need data on other cars re Hemmings article
My 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo measures 22.5" between the armrest and the center
onsole and the overall distance from the inboard side of the accelerator and
he outboard side of the clutch pedal is 11.5" (which are perfectly placed for
eel and toe driving). I wear size 11 shoes and find that I have to wear
riving shoes or drive in my socks in the Pantera to comfortably operate the
edals. Mr. Drew suggested that I should pull in the forward trim piece of the
enter console with a screw and fendor washer to make more foot room by the
ccelerator, but I didn't do that since I purchased the Piloti driving shoes
hat everyone was talking about last year that were on sale at the Sportsman
ebsite.
I consider the entry and exit effort to be very similar to the Pantera.

ell, the distance between the console and door panel the writer complained
indirectly) about being too narrow measures at 24"
The distance in my 1995 BMW 3 series is 23" and in our 2004 Toyota Highlander is
24"
o I guess those vehicles would be too snug for the author too.
I measure the width of the 3 pedals to be 10.5"
Do people have cars they can compare those numbers with?
