[DeTomaso] 345/35/15 Tires

Mike,
I use the 345/35/15 size tires on my GT5S and in looking for the rear tires
last year found a pair at Discount Tire. Although they didn't have them in
Houston they had a pair at a store within 100 miles they could get for me.
Upon querying them as to the status of the tires, I found they were 2007
vintage and had been stored in the south Texas heat since that time. I opted
not to purchase them due to the possible hardening, etc. There are a few
other vehicles that utilize that size including the Lamborghini Countach
which makes them easier to find than the elusive 285/40/15's which are
occasionally available from Yokohama which are stocked by a Pantera owner in
Sweden. Yokohama apparently has a run to produce the 285/40's every 3 years
or so.

It does say they have fewer than 12, so maybe they found them in a back
corner somewhere.  Any idea what their policy is on how long they'll let a
tire sit in inventory before it's too old to sell, or are there DOT regs on
that?
