That sounds like a 69-70 Mustang master. Front brakes are out of rear part
of cylinder, rears are out of front. There is a residual pressure valve in
the front opening, as those Mustangs had drum brakes on the rear. The r/p
valve can be removed by screwing an sheet metal screw into the opening and
pulling it out. Easy to do,
This master cylinder requires an adapter on the power brake unit. It was an
early Hall purchase I originally made 20 or so years ago. It still is on
6556 to this day, along with any number of cars I've adapted for friends
Panteras.

The last time I checked, they were sold in almost any parts store for
around $35.00.

Subj: [DeTomaso] rebuild kit for mystery master cylinder?

I have decided to rebuild all my brake cylinders and switch back to glycol
brake fluid.

My master cylinder was changed by the previous owner to one with the
reservoirs moulded into the cast iron body of the master. The reservoir for the
front brakes is like 5X larger (longer) than the one for the rear brakes.

The top is moulded, raised, sheet metal that is held in place by a spring
steel bar that slides over it.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm sure it was part of an
aftermarket kit in the late '70s or early '80s
I believe some Corvette masters were used back then.

I need to find a rebuild kit for it. Does it sound like a GM Corvette
cylinder?

Jim
