The intake shown only has to have one advantage compared to the off the
shelf products available to be worth making IMO. I have probably built
stranger things myself where other people wouldn't understand why I didn't
just buy something that fit. Maybe they were right...

I was wondering the same thing. The cost of the correct manifold is about
600-900 bucks depending on source, from my research..do you think it was in
attempt to save money? would have thought the labor to do this would have
been extensive. maybe they just wanted that..sideways look. funny I didn't
notice it at first.



btw, if anyone has a Cleveland IDF format manifold ( yes they make one of
those too) I would be interested in purchasing. I have an IDF format 302
manifold that is brand new I would be happy to trade. They cost about the
same on the open market, or at least they do from the sources I've found,
but the cleveland manifold is out of stock at the moment from the sources
checked.
