Well, that shows about what I would have guessed it would look like.  Its not a dead zone, and the boundary

layer can't be real thick in that area.  The "elephant ear" scoops will be in a good area to do what they should be doing...bringing in cooler air to the intake.  You get more horsepower from dropping the intake charge temperature than you will from whatever pressure increase you would get from a scoop like that. Or any real

world scoop.  Do you really need those scoops to find cooler air?  Probably not, but they're one of the easier

ways to get it to the carb.  There are plenty of other ways.
