Guys,
 
    I think that the color thing came out of the fact that in Europe 200+ years ago people with dark sun tans were viewed as lower class field workers.  The upper class could avoid the sun.  So the darker your skin was, the lower the class you were put in.
 
    Now we all want tans, but the racial prejudice remains.

This global effort wasn't a socialist, political or other; only that 
people are always dividing people into groups and until people stop 
seeing people as black, white, Hispanic, etc will people will never see 
beyond color. Simple as that. It is a fault of our society. I personally 
think we should drop race categories on every application regardless of 
what it is for.
