[DeTomaso] The Chinese oil torture

Chris,

Oil can migrate from many places, it may not be the oil plug or the
filter. Check all the way around the pan. Check the valve covers too,
these are are a great place to weep oil after spirited driving. Oil,
like other liquids at lower altitudes, are subject to gravity, so oil
weeping past a valve cover gasket will eventually make its way down past
the oil filter and drip on your floor. So you might check topside too.

:)

I check to make sure the oil filter seal was good (and lubricated with oil prior to installation), and that the mating surface was clean and smooth.
