Personally, I've co-owned our car for going-on 30 years, which helps a bit. 
And it gets too damn cold and snowy here in northern NV to drive any 
low-slung sporty car, for maybe 4 months out of the year, which helps me schedule 
my tear-down projects. FWIW- J DeRyke
