Hi, Jack,

yes, all four calipers are plumbed into the brake line.

Where would I look for this RP valve, and how does it differ from a proportioning valve?

Jim

The nylon sliders on all the rear calipers may need a small spot of oil or
ight grease once in a while. Proper operation of rear calipers means the
hole caliper slides back & forth- either when the hydraulic brakes are
ouched or when the e-brake handle is pulled. Some simply get dirty & sticky.
ou don't say whether all 4 rear calipers are plumbed into the hydraulic
ines. If so, depending on what master cylinder your car has and what other
ods the brakes got, it may be a caliper is varnished up and needs disassembly
nd cleaning. Also, there is often a device called a 'residual pressure'
alve in the rear brake circuit. The valve may be varnished inside, or someone
ay have used the wrong RP valve for the application.
inally, a brake rotor is designed to wobble ever so slightly and this
nocks the brake pads back a few thousandths, providing some running clearance.
ome owners go to enormous lengths to eliminate any wobble or run-out, and
ind up with pads that constantly drag the rotors and have short operating
ives. Good luck- J Deryke.
