There are a couple of problems here. First of all, the last four numbers
of the VIN match the engine number on the tag exactly, which almost never
happens. So I suspect they may have made a mistake there--either with the
VIN, or the tag itself? Otherwise it would be an amazing coincidence.

Also, they state it's the 1206th Pantera imported to the USA, which isn't
true. Instead, it's the 1206th Pantera built, period. Hundreds of early
cars, and reasonable smattering of cars after #1286 (the first US car) were
sold in Europe and elsewhere.

They call the interior leather, but it's very original vinyl.

I don't know what's up with the LH rear tag number (LH Rear Tag 874 01193)?
That would normally be the engine number? Perhaps the silver tag around
the VIN was lost, and when a replacement was procured they accidently
stamped the last four of the VIN instead of the engine tag number?

Still, a fascinating car. BTW the original source that's selling the car
is:

Some of this information is 'mirrored' on a UK site, which is where most of
us first caught wind of this car.
