That was a good trouble-shooting move on your part, Denny. If even a few 
drops of brake fluid are left in the boot for very long, the boot softens, 
swells and eventually bonds to the edge of the hole through the aluminum plate. 
Then when you need to do something that requires removing the clutch 
master, the assembly will not come out of the pedal plate without the use of a 
rather large crowbar.... and there really aren't many places to pry without
