My 5 year plan is going on 15 now...Admittedly, the plan has drifted a bit.

I'm in the same boat.  I bought a non-running and no-brake cat last year for
just a bit less than you did and had her fired up the first day.  Brakes
took a bit longer, but I still have a grin on my face.  I made a pact that
it was a 10 year plan to get it like I wanted and I'm OK with that. I live
for challenges and I love cars.
