I want to know how a freeze plug coming out introduced water to the oil pan?

Subject: [DeTomaso] Modern Science Question- Oil and Water?
No, this is not about the gulf coast.....this is my own little driveway version!
I had a freeze plug go out on a 4.6L Ford that dumped fresh water into a fresh oil change..... I was able to drain most of the "water" out of the pan by simply loosening the drain plug and letting the water run out...once I hit "baby poo" (oil and water) I stopped.
Engine has run for perhaps a total of 15 minutes and was just starting to "blend" the oil and water when I shut it down..... Balance of the water ran in over night and simply settled in the bottom of the pan.....
I had not yet installed anti-freeze as I wanted to test everything out....fresh head gaskets etc. Found the bad freeze plug AFTER I put it all back together...... Mr Murphy strike 7.....
So, my question is this: If I simply start the engine up and bring it up to temp, will the water content of this "blend" of oil and water disipate/evaporate and leave my original oil???? Negating the need to change out the otherwise fresh oil once again......? Dipstick shows oil level as simply full, so not a whole lot of water has been introduced into the mixture....
This is a stock 4.6, so no monster compression etc....family taxi.....destined to serve as a "college commuter war wagon"...... (1992 Crown Victoria)
Just interested in hearing "oil and water" stories!!! :)
Steve
