[DeTomaso] $5000 Pantera

if this does pan out and one of you guys buys it...I'd like to go on record
as saying that "too good to be true" is still ...very
occasionally...possible. If this is a real Pantera and not a scam...I would
think the sheet metal alone and just the parts I can see in the postage
stamp images would make it worth what he's asking. I mean do the math..add
up used market value of components such as glass, bumpers, door handles,
decklids, qtrs, tailights, inner wheelhouses for both sides...and those 1000
dollar steering wheels. =) That car would have to be pair of quarter panels
and a roof sitting in the grass to not be worth what he's asking by my
calcs.......and I can see in the photos theres more to it than that.
Anyway....if I could get there in time I'd be all over it....but im at a
distance disadvantage....that tub would either be awesome for parts to
resolve mine or ?

Oh well...so it goes....to whoever gets there first, congrats....and if no
one else decides to be interest...for who knows why....please someone let me
know...

Cullen

My 1972 1/2 L Pantera is #4297. It was built in September '72. It should
have the early dash. I have seen cars before mine registered as 1973
models. My California title calls my car a PNTRA. This one may be for
real.

I have spoken to the owner of the Pantera in the ad ( or the owner of the
Ad) and on the surface he seems legit. He owns a construction bussiness
that
has a proffesional looking web page, he has sent me pictures of the car and
he sent me a copy of the title. The Vin# is THPNMD04299. I am far from
being an expert but I think this # is to low for a 1973., also the
Calafornia title lists the manufacturer as Pante (not Detomaso). The guy is
willing to have someone look at the car (which is purportedly in a shipping
container. Is there anyone near Modesto that would be willing or able to
look at this car? I have a ZF transaxle ( which this car is missing) and I
told the guy I would buy the car if someone could take a look at it for me.
Any opinions on the Vin or title issues?
Boyd
