[DeTomaso] Electric Choke Wiring

FWIW,
 
Holley carbs require 12V to feed the electric choke. In a late  model stock 
Pantera with a resistance wire ballast feeding the coil, there is no  place 
to get an ignition switched 12V in the engine compartment. On early  
Panteras with a discrete ignition ballast resistor, ignition switched 12V  is 
available at the ignition switch  side of the ballast  resistor.
 
If an electric choke of any type is connected to the positive  coil 
terminal of a late stock model Pantera with a resistance wire ballast, the  choke 
will be fed by approximately 8V and can seriously degrade the ignition  
performance.
 
Ford/Autolite carbs with electric chokes must be connected to  the center 
tap of the stator winding on the alternator ..... the Green/Red wire  from 
the "S" terminal (second from the right) on the Voltage  Regulator.
