[DeTomaso] Gumball's charitable cause

I apologize if I am wrong. What I should have said is "As far as I know none
of the $45,000 (or so) entrance fee went to any charitable cause. I was
trying to help Bob find sponsorship for the 2010 rally and we explored
trying to find a way to raise money for a charitable cause through
sponsoring Bob's entry. I didn't speak to the promoters personally but Bob
did on numerous occasions and the impression I got was that the event was a
"For profit" event and that the money collected was not shared with any
charitable organization. Allow the event to be used by a charity for free
publicity is a nice gesture but it is not the same as actually raising money
for or turning over part of the extremely hefty entrance fee to a not for
profit organization. Again if I don't have the facts straight I apologize
but I also read all the promotional materials I could find on their web
sight and I saw no reference to any of the money going to any charity. If it
did then at least part of the entry fee would be tax deductible (which as
far as I know it was not.
