[DeTomaso] parking brake and passenger floor pan advice

I'm just getting to planning for the install of the dropped floor pan I got
from Steve Wilkenson for #1288.  The pan is bigger than the current
available floor space meaning I will have to cut under the parking brake to
make it fit. My 924 had the parking brake at the driver's left hand between
the seat and floorboard which took some getting used to but was out of the
way.

Has anybody else relocated or reconfigured the parking brake handle besides
removing it all together?  Living in Florida, there are no hills to be
concerned about but I hate the thought of removing it.
