[DeTomaso] Has anyone tried Eastwood Diamond Clear for the ZF, valve covers, etc?

I heard somewhere that polishing the ZF isn't a good idea since it inhibits the transfer of heat out of the transmission.  I think if that's true, a coating would be even worse.
