[DeTomaso] Overheating Issue

Cracks in heads and cylinders often remain sealed at cooling system
pressures. They however are overcome by combustion chamber pressures.
Therefore, sometimes you cannot detect them from a test initiated on the
cooling system side.

I bought one of those gadgets first.  When I used it I saw, after draining
the
system, that it only *inhaled* a slight bit more than had come out. Air air
in
the system was not the problem.  A crack in a head did not show up in my
instance until magnafluxed.

Just my experience

I've suggested to him to use a "vacuum type" of coolant filling system to
fill
the system without air. I've read good
things about them. This system uses a vacuum to fill the system and only
works
if the system is sealed and has no leaks.
Would it show a problem if there was a cracked head??
