Actually the price increase is only 400K.  Seems like a bargain for another 14 mph.  :-))

        Cool Car... but am I the only one that thinks if the color was brown it would look like a Tr.. no Potato? But then who am I to talk...I drive a Subaru Baja! LOL
        I'll bet when they tacked on that Super Sport emblem the price went up a couple hundred Gs?

          >From the July 19, 2010 issue of Autoweek.  Bugatti is claiming a new production car top speed record with a combined two run average of 267.9 mph by a Veyron 16.4 Super Sport model.  The previous record, 253.76 mph was set by a standard Veyron 16.4 in 2005.  The record run occurred at parent company Volkswagen's 13 mile Ehara-Lessien test track in late June.
