I remember something similar, although I thought that it would drain its
tank in 11 minutes or something. Doesn't really matter the exact number -
the summary is that a 1000 hp engine at full throttle at 250 mph consumes a
lot of oxygen and gasoline to keep moving at that speed. 

I guess if you want to save gas you buy a Prius!

And it uses some obscene amount of fuel....I think it was Jeremy Clarkson or
the other Brit that drove it on Top Gear and said ( while at speed) that it
would run out of fuel in like 4 minutes or something.....a matter of
minutes, I don't  recall specifically....but it was ridiculous....

But the real question is, were both the radio and air conditioning on at the
time?

I read once about the Veyron that it takes 400 hp of it's 1,100 hp to help
it get to 200 mph and the other 700 hp to make it to the old 250 mph mark.
