Could the timing have slipped to retard the timing?  That can make an engine run hotter.

Hey Guys.
A friend is at his wits end with the cooling system on his  Pantera.
Up until a year ago, his car ran cool (160 hwy and 180 city). It then slowly started to run hotter and hotter ( 230
city).
So he replaced the rad (fluidyne), pump(elelbrock, dual suckers and new tubes. Things didn"t change. 160 on the hiwaya
nd 230 in the city. He then installed a HD Robershaw 180. Same thing except it ran 180 hwy and 230 in the city.
He has jacked the back and front up numerous times trying to get any air out. He's about to pull an "Elvis" and shoot
the thing.
Any suggestions? Asajay, didn't you go through this a while ago?
Will
