The fact that the pivot shaft has grease zerks should have tipped us off 
that it was either 'billet' or at least modified (drilling an 0.050" hole 3" 
deep in carbon-steel is not trivial!) So a more convenient thread (in the 
U.S. anyway) is not surprising. Good luck- J DeRyke
