[DeTomaso] Welding question?   Stainless with MIG

Remember, guys, - Steve said he was going to TACK-WELD the pipes together 
in the car, then take them to a TIG welder for finishing. You can weld 
stainless steel with mild steel rod and the metals stick together just fine. Not 
using stainless rod means the welds are mild steel and will rust, but the 
TIG-guy will likely grind away the tacks in the course of doing his thing. 
Steve could tack-BRAZE the parts with a torch if he wanted to, with identical 
results. This is not structural and not a big deal. Its done every day- J
