[DeTomaso] Sparkplugs

Hi

I'm looking into my starting problem and I have reached the sparkplugs.

I actually have no clue what plugs to use so I'll send a general
question here.

I have a 393 stroker with AFD 4v heads and MDS ignition. 

The plugs I use today is NGK BCP 6ES. 

When the plugs are new the engine fires without problem. But after a
while the engine gets harder to fire up. 

The plugs does look ok to me when removing them, just a very little
sooty but not as much that is should give me problem when firing the
engine?!?

Any recommendations regarding Heat Range or electrode gap?
