Why not just leave off the trim entirely, expose the flat-black rubber 
gasket and simplify things? Someone might want to buy the brightwork if you 
don't care for the shiny look. Our windshield trim has been gone for 19 years 
and hardly anyone notices the little slit in the stock gasket that retained
