[DeTomaso] Panthera?

It would be great if they were to build a new Pantera, but I would not bet on it.  The announced plans are to build three rather utilitarian models, and it will be an uphill battle just to accomplish that.


The trademark holders have to walk a fine line between protecting their trademark and not pissing off their fans.  POCA should be fine but some of the for-profit vendors with "Pantera" in their name may run into trouble (again).

At some point POCA (and the vendors) will probably have to deal with the new trademark owners over the issue of using the logo on all our *stuff* , correct?

Wilkinson called me the other day to give me an update on that whole 
situation.  Turns out in typically Italian dramatic fashion, that whole "Fiat 
exec" thing was a red herring, meant to distract the public from what was 
really happening; the name and trademarks have indeed been sold, but to somebody 
totally different. a different Italian.  

Wilkinson couldn't remember his name, but he's the fellow who was behind 
the LaForza SUV project.
