Go to the Space City website. Steve Hawkins penned an article with part
numbers. I bought the recommended motor last week.

I couldn't wait. I went back down to the shop and the dead blower motor is
now out. I had to drain out the coolant and undo (cut) the lines in the
cabin but I have valves in my heater hoses back in the engine compartment so
that was a cinch. All I had to drain was the heater core and cabin lines.
Not a drop spilled on the carpet either. I did not have to undo the A/C
lines so my charge of R12 remains intact. Actually the foam and air ducting
hoses are intact but are kind of stiff. Now would be a good time to freshen
them up. That black sticky insulation stuff that goes on the hose ends
around the evaporator valve, etc. is in rough shape too. I know Eastwood
sells that stuff.
I had a link to a source for a multispeed blower motor that I cannot find.
Any suggestions?
I could use a A/C dash louver assy too.
Thanks.

Yesterday the windshield came out, today the dashboard is out and the heater
box is staring back at me, tomorrow the dead blower motor will be in my
hands. It's in the twenties and I'm already thinking about how great it will
be to have A/C again, not to mention all the other little details I've got
in mind.
Whatever your intentions are this winter, if you haven't started yet, now is
a good time.
Good for you. Larry! Dig in there!
Now that the dash is out there are two easy replacements: first, the paper
flex-tubes often used to guide defroster air, are usually destroyed by time.
They are easy to install if the dash is out and difficult if its in place.
The second is the square foam 'doughnuts' between the heater/AC box outlets
and the actual dadshboard. Impossible to replace with the dash in, simple
with it out. These things gasket the abysmally poor alignment between dash &
steel box, to guide the cold air coming out of the evaporator. They are
usually disintegrated. Both tubes & doughnuts are cheap to replace.
Good luck- J DeRyke
